Do you feel stuck, depressed or
emotionally overwhelmed?
Are
self-sabotaging patterns of thought and behavior getting in
your way?
Is
your career or your relationship all you want it to be?
If
you have found my website, chances are you're looking for
support in dealing with issues that are causing pain and
dissatisfaction in your life. As a Licensed Professional
Counselor and Holistic Psychotherapist, I am committed to
helping people experience healing and lasting personal change
in their lives and personal relationships.
I
provide individualized psychotherapy for adults, teens,
couples and families in Denver and Boulder, CO. My
therapeutic approach is holistic, and tailored to the
unique needs of each client. Because no single therapy works
for everyone, I use an integrative approach that includes both
traditional and nontraditional psychotherapy. My
work embraces the whole person – body, mind and
spirit.
In
almost two decades of clinical practice, I have been trained
in the most advanced psychotherapy and counseling techniques.
I consider EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing) to be the most effective therapy for
rapidly resolving traumatic experiences (e.g.
emotional, physical and sexual abuse). The effectiveness of
EMDR has been clinically proven in the treatment of PTSD
(post-traumatic stress disorder) and panic attacks. EMDR also
helps people struggling with performance anxiety, fear of
public speaking, grief and loss, depression and emotional
resolution of an auto accident. Please visit my
EMDR page for more
information.
One
of my principal specialties is in helping people with
relationship and intimacy issues such as improving
communication skills, overcoming guilt and shame in sexual
relationships and establishing healthy boundaries. I also help
people transform patterns of destructive anger, self-sabotage
and codependency.
As a Licensed Counselor and
Holistic Psychotherapist I also address issues including, but
not limited to:
- clarifying goals and life
purpose
- resolving mid-life issues
and other stressful life transitions
- healing grief and loss
(including the loss of loved ones, pets, etc.)
- personal renewal after a
relationship breakup or divorce
- transforming negative core
beliefs and self-limiting thought patterns
- improving body image and
self-esteem
- managing the effects of
depression, anxiety, SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and
bipolar disorder (manic depression)
- exploring career options
and "right livelihood"
- reducing social anxiety at
school, at work or in social situations
- controlling negative
emotions and mood swings
- improving energy level,
motivation and mood with a balanced regimen of therapy,
nutrition, exercise and sleep
- learning adaptation skills
for the "highly sensitive person"
- deepening one’s spiritual
connection
